West African reprise

West Africa has been a graveyard for a number of miners of late – London Mining and African Minerals come to mind – but there are more than a few chinks of light in a region too often viewed as synonymous with political instability, cigar-chomping generals and corruption.

At least that was the message from a London conference this week held by legal firm Herbert Smith Freehills. South Africa’s Nedbank tipped Sierra Rutile and Aureus Mining as operators worth watching...
