Company News: Andiamo Exploration
Updated: 10 May 2012
Andiamo Exploration Ltd is a private UK company exploring for gold and base metals in Eritrea. The management of the company has a successful track record of mineral discovery and financial management, including more than eighteen years’ experience of exploration in Eritrea.
Andiamo holds the 723 square kilometre Haykota exploration licence, issued in 2009 and located about 45 kilometres south west of the Bisha mine in a similar geological environment. Haykota has several prospects for VMS and copper-rich disseminated sulphide mineralisation, with near surface gold enrichment. In addition the area hosts geologically much younger shear-hosted gold mineralisation.
Six prospects identified so far cover about 22kms of strike length, but there are further targets in the licence area. Andiamo has raised about US$8m as a private company and has completed airborne and ground geophysics, soil and surface sampling, geological mapping and now more than 12,000m of drilling which has yielded very encouraging results.
