Currently, Anvil is producing more than 15,000t/y of copper concentrate (25% Cu) from its heavy-media separation (HMS) plant at Kinsevere. Located in the Katanga Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Stage II SX-EW project, which is currently under construction at an estimated capital expenditure of US$400 million, will produce 60,000 t/year during Q3 2011 at an estimated cash cost of US$0.89/lb Cu (C1) and a total cash cost, including royalties to Gécamines and the DRC Government, of US$1.00/lb Cu.
The Company is actively working with the Government, Gécamines and the local population to regenerate the mining industry in this region.
