Company News: Aspire Mining
Updated: 18 Oct 2010
Aspire Mining Limited is a coal resource company which owns 100% of the exciting Ovoot Coking Coal Project in Mongolia along with the Nurant and Shanagan Coal Projects. In addition the company owns a 49% interest in the Windy Knob gold and base metals project located in Western Australia.
Aspires key driver is discovering and developing world class ore bodies, adding growth and maximising shareholder returns over the long term. The Ovoot Coking Coal Project has provided Aspire with a large scale high quality hard coking coal project in Mongolia. Drilling to date indicates that the thick coal seams are flat dipping and are of a high ranking coal.
Aspire's initial targets in 2010 at Ovoot are to identify a large scale open pittable hard coking coal project in order to justify extending rail infrastructure to the project area. Exploration to date has involved +6,000 metres of drilling, with results for coal specifications and metallurgical test work pending. Apsires aim is to present a JORC compliant resource in the December quarter 2010.
Mongolia is highly prospective for coal and other minerals, has a rapidly developing coal mining industry and is well located to large coal consumers in China, Japan and Korea.
