Company News: Wesizwe Platinum
Updated: 23 Feb 2010
Wesizwe is firmly differentiated from the opportunistic exploration junior. Instead of going to the markets for initial exploration capital to establish the presence of exploitable minerals, the company undertook a private venture capital raising to firmly establish a SAMREC-qualifiable resource prior to going public. This substantially reduced the investment risk-profile. In addition, the longer term growth strategy is to create substantial value in the current exploration programme and to use this as “stock-in-trade” for an M&A campaign.
The very rapid creation of value in the first few years of the exploration programme where drilling takes the asset from baron veld to a qualified reserve with a Bankable Feasibility Study and hence a resource asset with a defined value, is where CEO Michael Solomon sees the company’s investment interest.
