In May 2009 ZCI successfully concluded negotiations for the acquisition of a substantial majority interest in African Copper Plc, which holds exclusive rights for the exploration and development of copper deposits in Botswana. Shareholder approval for the transaction was obtained on 11 January 2010 effectively terminating ZCI’s classification as a cash shell and entitling the Company to be re-listed on the non ferrous metal section of the main board of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange on the 15 January, 2010.
