Mining Magazine Congress
Niagra Falls, Canada

Mining Magazine Congress

To celebrate its centenary year, Mining Magazine is launching a unique event to bring together suppliers and operators to discuss industry best practice.

This event, the first of its kind, offers the operational mining industry and its suppliers a unique forum in which to share knowledge, ideas on best practice and experience with new technologies and equipment. This congress addresses the whole mining process and recognises that everything from the drilling of the blast-holes to the final mine product should be seen as one integrated process, with everything having a knock-on effect further down the chain.

Now, more then ever, in uncertain economic conditions, the industry is looking at ways in which existing technologies and methods can be improved, how the best possible availability and cost/tonne can be achieved from equipment both new and old, and, finally, how completely new ideas can be incorporated into operations to improve productivity further.

We hope you will be able to join the debate, visit our exhibitors and attend the Centenary Awards Dinner at our exciting venue, White Oaks Conference Resort & Spa, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada on the 8th and 9th October 2009.

Mining in a Day

14th September & 11th December 2009

City of London Club, Old Broad Street, London

Mining Journal presents a back-to-basics day-long seminar on the mining industry. Three mining experts provide a comprehensive but straightforward (no jargon) explanation of what the global mining industry is, and how it works.

The event is aimed at people working in associated sectors (the financial community, lawyers, PR companies, equipment manufacturers, service providers, etc) who would benefit from an overview of mining, and be in a better position as a result to develop more business opportunities.

“We all have knowledge gaps, and our ‘Mining in a Day’ seminar will help fill many of them,” said Chris Hinde, the editorial director of Mining Journal, which hosts the event.

Mining engineer Dr Hinde is joined by Professor Phillip Crowson (former chief economist at Rio Tinto and director of the London Metal Exchange) and Dr Ed Sides (principal resource geologist for the AMEC Consultancy).
