US uranium a sad story
The recent history of uranium mining in the United States closely mirrors that of rare earths there: an industry left to wither on the vine. In the case of uranium there is still some production left in operation, but only 8% of the country's needs comes from its own mines.
There was relief this week among those selling into the US that Donald Trump did not impose a recommended 25% domestic production quota, which would have in effect thrown nearly 10 million pounds of uranium...
