Roman Copper Corp said it requested a meeting with the Romanian government to clarify the situation surrounding its acquisition of state-owned SC Cuprumin SA Abrud’s Rosia Poieni mine. The Canadian company said earlier this week that it had started to take steps to consolidate its purchase after making a successful bid in an auction on March 30, but that the Romanian government had pulled out of talks to finalise the €200.8 million (US$267 million) acquisition.
