It is now five years since the UN peacekeeping force, United Mission in Liberia, arrived to ensure the security of this West African country. Liberia has now become an acceptable country in which to invest and the country has made great strides in reinstating its place in the international community.

Author Biography

Leslie Wright is an independent consultant and structural geologist with 36 years in the industry. His experience includes regional exploration, mineral deposit evaluation, and advice to governments on mineral development strategies. Dr Wright was vice-president (exploration) for Mano River Resources and consultant to the Liberian government for many years. Jenkins K Dorbor was director of mines, Ministry of Lands, Mines and Energy, Monrovia, Liberia and is now director in charge of geological technical services for Mano River Resources and the government of Liberia.
