If you could choose one image to sum up working in the mining industry, what would it be? Since November we’ve been looking to unearth a powerful image that captures what it’s like working in mining today.

This year’s mining photographic competition had four categories:

  • Surface mining
  • Underground mining
  • Mining equipment
  • People in mining
