Cartier deepens 5B4-5M4-5NE zones at Chimo

Cartier Resources has announced high-grade drilling results from underneath the 5B4-5M4-5NE zones at its Chimo mine gold property near Val-d’Or in Quebec, Canada.

It reported highlights of 10.9m grading 5 grams per tonne 250m below the 5B4-5M4-5NE zones, increasing the dimensions and resource potential of the area.

"These new results indicate that the gold mineralisation of interest is open in all directions below zones 5B4-5M4-5NE drilled to date from the surface up to a depth of 1.3km," said president and CEO Philippe Cloutier.

The 5B4-5M4-5NE zones host a December 2019 indicated resource of 28,400oz and 137,140oz inferred. The nearby Central Gold Corridor hosts an indicated resource of 3.3 million tonnes grading 4.4g/t for 461,280oz.

Although drilling is temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 precaution measures, the company aims to complete 10,000m to expand mineral resources along the geometric extensions below the 5B4-5M4-5NE zones and peripheral to the new 5CE zone.

Shares in Cartier Resources are trading at C12c, valuing the company at $22 million.
