Kuya collected 85 channel samples from the new discovery, named the Carmen Vein, within a strike length of 300m on the southern side of the Bethania mine area. An additional 26 samples were collected alongside a sub-parallel structure, which has been named the Carmen Vein Branch, within an 800m strike length to the northeast.
Assay results from the samples consisted of up to 6.26 grams per tonne gold, with only a single sample assaying less than 0.1g/t. Up to 343g/t of anomalous silver was also identified, as well as an additional type of mineralisation.
The Bethania Silver project is in the northwestern area of the Huancavelica region, approximately 316km from the capital city of Lima. It historically produced silver-lead and zinc concentrates before falling into care and maintenance. Production ceased in 2016. The mine and corresponding concessions and permits were purchased by Kuya Silver in 2020.
On January 26, Kuya Silver was last trading on the Canadian Stock Exchange at C$1.03/share, the fourth day in a row it had been trading above the C$1 mark after trading lower for the previous month.
