Hitachi predicts robot mining takeover

Australia’s “almost entirely autonomous” mines will use fully integrated IoT systems to connect them to central analytics hubs that will help drive costs down by up to 25% by 2030, according to Japan’s Hitachi (TKY: 6501). The mining and construction equipment supplier expects to be part of the technological revolution with its autonomous machines and information management systems.
