Discovery Metals Limited: Brad Sampson, Managing Director
Brad Sampson has in excess of 20 years international experience as a mining engineer. He has worked extensively in open cut and underground mine operations and developments in Australia Southern Africa, and the Pacific.
Mr Sampson has held General Management roles at Kloof Gold Mine in South Africa, St Ives Gold Mine in Western Australia, and was General Manger -PNG for Emperor Mines Ltd. He has also held an executive role in Thiess Ltd and has held positions with Anglo American, Ross Mining NL and Comalco.
Moly Mines: Derek Fisher, Managing Director

Dr Fisher is a geologist with over 37 years world wide experience in the resource industry. He has been the principal in a number of companies listed both on the Canadian (“TSX”) and Australian (“ASX”) stock exchanges and has over 20 years experience as the manager of publicly listed companies.
Dr Fisher began his career with the NSW Geological Survey in 1966 as a student geologist and following graduation in 1969 from the University of New England, Armidale NSW, he moved into the mineral exploration industry with the Canadian nickel company, INCO.
Following exploration work in the Solomon Islands and Australia he moved to Canada where he completed his doctorate at the University of Toronto. On return to Australia in the early 80’s, he moved into junior mining companies and since then, companies in which he has been a principle have developed mines or mineral processing operations in Australia, Mongolia, Africa and America.
Dr Fisher is an honorary life member of the Australian mining industry organisation, the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC) having spent 13 years on it’s council and 4 years as President.
Gold One International: Neal Froneman, CEO
A mechanical engineer by training coupled with an accounting qualification, Neal Froneman, has over 25 years’ experience in the mining industry. Neal commenced his career with Libanon Gold Mine in the Carletonville area of the Witwatersrand Basin in South Africa, rising quickly through the ranks to become Technical Manager of the Beatrix Mine.
An opportunity to join Harmony lead to Neal becoming an integral member of the team implementing the “Harmony Way” upon which much of that company’s success was built. A short stint as Technical Director at JCI Limited was followed by Neal taking up the position of Vice President and Head of Operations at Gold Fields Limited’s Kloof Division. In 2003 Neal became CEO of The Afrikander Leases, which was to eventually be spun out into Uranium One, one of the world’s largest uranium producers and Aflease Gold, which, since its reverse take-over of Australian listed BMA Gold is now known as Gold One, of which Neal is President and CEO. Neal is a registered professional engineer with both a manager and engineers government certificate of competency. Neal is married and has three children.
Chalice Gold, Douglas Jones, Managing Director
Doug has 30 years experience in international mineral exploration, having worked extensively in Australia, Africa, South America and Europe.
His career has covered exploration for volcanic and sediment-hosted zinc-copper-lead, gold in a wide range of geological settings and IOCG style copper-gold. He is also the Managing Director of Liontown Resources Limited and a director of AIM-listed Minera IRL Limited.
Grange Resources: Russell Clark, Managing Director & CEO
Mr Clark was appointed Managing Director of Grange in March 2008 and led Grange through the merger with Australian Bulk Minerals. He holds a Mining Engineering degree from the RSM, London, UK and a Graduate Diploma from the Securities Institute of Australia.
In addition he has undertaken a number of Executive Development programs in Australia and the USA. Prior to joining Grange, Mr Clark worked for Renison Goldfields for 18 years and with Newmont Mining Corporation Limited for 8½ years. He has over 30 years of mining experience in Africa, Papua New Guinea, the USA and throughout Australia in technical, project management, general management and executive positions. He is a member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and the Australasian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy. He is also a Chartered Engineer, a Justice of the Peace and an Affiliate Member of the Australian Institute of Directors
Novus Energy Fund Ltd: Gary Cochrane, Chairman
Gary has had experience as a company director in both private and public companies and has also been a corporate advisor for the last 6 years to Australian and Chinese mining companies through his international consulting business. Gary was the project manager of Yancoal’s acquisition of the Austar Mine near Cessnock and has also been actively involved over the years in management training for the Shenhua Group.
Gary was a founding investor and former director of Millennium Coal which is now a 4 mtpa operating coal mine in Queensland. The mine was developed from a grass roots exploration project to a fully operating coal mine with over $200 million in infrastructure and mining contracts.
He has 28 years experience in the mining, engineering and construction industry in Australia, China, Indonesia and New Guinea. He has had senior management and technical roles at operating mines in Australia and New Guinea. He has spent the last 14 years as an international mining and management consultant and has worked extensively in China auditing and valuing coal and metalliferous mines and exploration projects.
Marengo Mining: Les Emery, Managing Director
Mr Les Emery has been involved in the Western Australian mining industry for more than 35 years and has experience in exploration, mining and corporate administration.
Until June 2001 he was Managing Director of Lynas Corporation Limited (formerly Lynas Gold NL) for 15 years and was instrumental in the transition of that Company from explorer to gold producer with the development of both the Lynas Find Gold Mine and the subsequent Paraburdoo Gold Project. In 1999 Mr Emery negotiated the entry of Lynas Corporation into that company’s now core business, the Mt Weld rare earths & tantalum/niobium project.
In addition, Mr Emery has been an executive or managing director of a number of listed Australian resource companies and is a founding director of Marengo Mining Limited. In 2005 he identified the opportunity to acquire the Yandera Copper-Molybdenum Project in Papua New Guinea, now Marengo Mining’s core asset.
Minemakers : Andrew Drummond, Managing Director
Andrew is the Managing Director of Minemakers Limited, which was listed on the ASX in October 2006 and is the joint Managing Director of Bonaparte Diamond
Mines NL, which was recently acquired by Minemakers.
He is a graduate in geology from Adelaide University in 1972 and has worked in Australia, New Zealand, China, Russia and the Philippines in a 35 year career.He has been involved in exploration, acquisition, extraction and mining for employers including Utah Development, Uranerz, Uranium Australia, Homestake and the ACM Group. He moved into company creation and management in 1993 and has been involved with the listing and/or management of Zephyr Minerals, Catalpa, Bonaparte Diamond Mines, Uranium Australia and Minemakers. He acquired the projects for the listing of Minemakers in 2004 and 2005.
Troy Resources : Paul Benson, CEO
Paul Benson, Chief Executive Officer, has over 20 years experience in the mining industry. Prior to joining Troy in October 2007, Paul spent the previous 7 years with BHP Billiton, based in Chile from 2004, where his most recent role was Chief Development Officer for BHP Billiton Base Metals and a member of the BHP Billiton Base Metals Executive Committee.
Before that Paul worked with Rio Tinto and RGC. Paul has a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Exploration Geophysics and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining, both from the University of Sydney, and a Sloan Masters of Science in Management from the London Business School
Martin Place Securities: Barry Dawes, Managing Director
Barry Dawes is the Managing Director of Martin Place Securities Pty Ltd, a boutique investment company specialising in investment opportunities in small-cap resource and energy companies. Martin Place Securities (MPS) has raised A$600m in the past five years as underwriter, lead manager or lead adviser for ASX, NSX and AIM listings for resources and energy companies. MPS is well known for its support of successful growth companies in these sectors and for its views on the outlook for the resources commodity sector.

Exco Resources: Michael Anderson, Managing Director
Mr. Anderson is a graduate of the Royal School of Mines with a PhD and Honours in Mining Geology. He has over 17 years experience in the southern African and Australian mining industries with broad based experience extending from exploration geology with Anglo American, through metallurgy and process development with Mintek, to the provision of multi-disciplinary EPCM and project development services with Bateman and Kellogg Brown & Root.Since joining Exco Resources as Managing Director in May 2006, Mr. Anderson has been focused on unlocking value from the Company’s portfolio of Cu-Au-U3O8 projects in NW Queensland and South Australia.
