IRON / STEEL ALLOY DAY 30-09-10

Date: Thursday 30th September 2010

In the modern world, there is no more important metal than steel, and demand for the product, and its constituent commodities, reflects fluctuations in the international economy.

Because of the international financial crisis, demand for steel last year dropped to the lowest level since 1982. However, global demand is now improving. This is supported, in particular, by the end of a draw-down in inventories and by various stimulus plans, especially in China. The stainless steel market is also improving after a correction in the final quarter of 2009.

Iron/Steel Alloy Day 30-09-10 is a morning event.
