At the same time, there is much talk of what could be done to cut demand by changing lithium-ion battery chemistries. Umicore CEO Marc Grynberg underlined recently how far off less-cobalt-intensive technologies were, and Nautilus Minerals (CN:NUS) has started crowing about the cobalt content in the seabed it is digging up off the coast of Papua New Guinea.
