Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology executive Ed Santamaria is joining leading Finnish mining equipment maker Normet as its new CEO no later than November this year.

Santamaria has been at Sandvik for 13 years and is currently president, parts & services, with the mining arm.
Prior to that he spent 20 years with drilling equipment designer and manufacturer SDS, which was acquired by Sandvik in 2006.
He will take over at Normet as president and CEO from interim CEO Aaro Cantell, who said Santamaria would help the company improve operational efficiency and identify new growth areas.
