Ranj Pillai is Yukon minister of energy, mines and resources, minister of economic development, and minister responsible for the Yukon Development Corporation and the Yukon Energy Corporation. He is also deputy premier of the Canadian north-west territory. First elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly in the general election for the 34th Legislative Assembly on November 7, 2016, Pillai was appointed to the executive council of Yukon (cabinet) on December 3, 2016. He represents the electoral district of Porter Creek South as a member of the Yukon Liberal Party.
