Canadian companies to join in ‘merger of equals’
Described as the creation of a “leading intermediate copper producer”, Quadra Mining Ltd and FNX Mining Company have agreed to a merger that would result in a new company with a market capitalisation of US$3.5 billion. The combined company, Quadra FNX Mining Ltd, has been labelled a “merger of equals” by FNX chairman and chief executive officer Terry MacGibbon, that will establish a mid-cap Canadian mining company.
