Mining Magazine, the leading global monthly operational mining title, is looking for an assistant editor to join its London-based team. The role involves researching in-depth articles and news on the mining market with particular focus on equipment and how it is used across the world’s mining operations.

Editor`s Comment - Waste not

IN an operational sense, metallic ore can be defined by the cut-off grade; i.e. the concentration of the primary metal in a rock that means it can be mined economically, given of course many other parameters such as equipment capacity.

Photoblog: Paul Moore visits Codelco Chuquicamata

Mining Magazine Editor, Paul Moore visited Codelco Norte’s Chuquicamata copper operation near Calama in Chile’s Region II in April 2008 – one of the world’s largest single open pits. The attached gallery shows some images of the current operation. A detailed article on the mine, with a focus on the drilling equipment, will appear in a future issue of Mining Magazine.
