M&A numbers not so bad
Despite M&A in the third quarter remaining “lacklustre”, according to an EY report released last week, there’s reason for miners and investors to be encouraged by some of the emerging trends.
There's a distinct lack of interest in selling or bidding for assets outside of a few high profile restructures
First, some numbers. There was a modest increase in M&A activity during the third quarter, with deal value flat at US$7.9 billion but deal volumes up 12% to 121 deals compared to the previous quarter....
