Neftex is a rapidly growing UK company and a leading international geoscience business. Our main activity is delivering the world’s most detailed commercially-available 4D plate tectonic and stratigraphic model – the Neftex Earth Model. It has been built with the support of our clients, many of the world’s largest national, major and independent resource companies, and is delivered using state-of-the-art web-mapping technologies. We are now further developing the minerals side of our Earth Model and moving into adjacent finance, groundwater and publishing sectors. We also provide exploration-led geoscience consultancy skills to these sectors. Neftex has a very strong research ethos to develop high-value opportunities for our wide and growing client base.

The successful applicant will provide exploration-relevant minerals geoscience support to the rapidly developing mining side of our Earth Model business. The candidate must be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrable expertise in minerals exploration, tectonics and geodynamics. The ideal candidate will have:

• A good honours degree (2:1+) & postgraduate degree to at least MSc level in Mining Geology, Geochemistry or Geodynamics;
• A mature work ethic, a professional attitude to business and the ability to work to deadlines;
• A good command of written and spoken English and excellent presentation skills.

The following additional skills would be beneficial:

• Experience and/or knowledge of databases (e.g. MS Access) and ArcGIS software;
• Knowledge of a foreign language;
• One to five years relevant minerals exploration industry experience.

Your initial responsibilities will include:

• Development of our minerals datasets and contributions to our Geodynamic plate tectonic model;
• Travel and technical presentations to clients.
