Petra Diamonds (LSE:PDL) has recovered a 425.10 carat D-colour Type II gem quality diamond at its Cullinan diamond mine in South Africa.

The latest large diamond recovered from Cullinan

Earlier in March, it recovered a 100.83ct white D-colour type II gem-quality stone, which was sold in its March tender.

Petra said both recoveries demonstrated the frequency of such large stones in the mine's orebody.

The company plans to sell the 425.10ct diamond during the June quarter.
