Cluff Gold plc has confirmed a labour dispute at its Kalsaka mine in Burkina Faso.

The company says salary discussions are ongoing with government representatives and staff, however there have been disruptions at the mine.

The company says that production at the gold mine was running ahead of schedule prior to this, and so its production guidance remains at 70,000oz for 2011.

A statement read: “The company will provide a further update in due course, including, if necessary, a revision to the annual production guidance.”

In May, Avocet Mining plc reported a labour disruption at its Inata mine in the country. Operations were halted but annual guidance of 165,000oz was maintained after a memorandum of settlement was signed and operations resumed shortly after.

Earlier this year, Cluff put its Angovia mine in the Ivory Coast on care and maintenance due to ongoing political disruptions in the country.
