The Mining Journal website this week includes the latest annual report from Deloitte of the top ten issues in the mining sector. The financial services company's third report, 'Tracking the Trends 2011', looks at the constraints mining companies will face as they attempt to meet burgeoning metals demand from emerging nations.

Mining Journal highlighted the main findings in last week's issue (p6).

Deloitte concluded that the main challenges are securing new sources of funding and ensuring access to ore reserves.

To respond to these industry trends, Deloitte says "mining companies must continue to structure strategic plans that take the full measure of their global risks and opportunities".
