The Mining Journal website this week includes the recently published annual 'Tracking the trends' report from Deloitte. The financial services company lists the ten most important trends in the mining sector.

Deloitte's global mining leader, Philip Hopwood, noted that the issues reflect changing social, economic and political trends. Looked at in isolation, he noted, "each challenge may seem familiar but, looked at through a macroeconomic and geopolitical lens, it becomes clear that the difficulties afflicting the industry are rapidly reaching an unprecedented level of extremity.
