Dakota Minerals is an intriguing proposition. Initially focused on exploring and proving up a resource in one of the hottest lithium locations going, Western Australia, it now finds itself focused in a relatively under-explored part of Europe trying to outdo its past achievements.

Its work on the Lynas Find project, next door to Pilbara Minerals’ Pilgangoora asset, resulted in the publication of a 7.3 million tonne inferred resource grading 1.25% Li2O, which, almost immediately, led to a deal being struck between the two companies where the latter agreed to pay the former A$8 million (US$6 million) in cash.
