Congo phosphate DFS completed

Cominco Resources has completed a definitive feasibility study (DFS) on the Hinda phosphate project in the Republic of Congo, which it says confirms the company’s capacity to repay the US$601 million development cost within 26 months.

The project, 37km from the deep-water container Atlantic Ocean port of Pointe Noire, involves development of an open-cut mining operation including inpit crushing of an average 20Mt/y of ore.
