By next month, Ivanhoe Mines (CN:IVN) believes drilling at Kakula West and Kakula will form a continuous mineral resource area, potentially bumping Kamoa-Kakula from the world’s fifth biggest copper deposit into the top three.

Assays from a further 43 holes at the project in the Democratic Republic of Congo have defined a high-grade mineralised zone at Kakula West measuring 1km with a 2.9km strike length.
