South32 boss confident about tailings dams

Fuelled by higher commodity prices and lower unit costs, South32 has reported a US$635 million first-half result but, despite the 17% rise in profit, CEO Graham Kerr spent almost as much time on a conference call discussing the company’s tailings dams as its capital return strategy.
