Teck pares spending, staff as global uncertainty weighs on results

Canada’s largest diversified miner Teck Resources says uncertain economic conditions have prompted it to cut back on up to US$383 million (C$500 million) of costs and planned spending by the end of 2020.

Teck Resources says uncertain economic conditions have prompted it to cut costs

To help it get there, it would eliminate up to 500 permanent jobs, "some of which we expect to come from attrition, the expiry of temporary or contract positions and current job vacancies".
