Nickel held on to most of Thursday’s soaring gains, and was trading at $23,700 per tonne on Friday morning, after soaring to decade highs of over 24,000 a tonne on Thursday, up by 14% since the start of the year.

Prices are being boosted by falling inventories at the LME, and a prising proportion of canceled warrants, which suggests more nickel will be delivered out of warehouses.
