Antofagasta shows resilience but COVID challenges persist

Antofagasta has proven resilient in the face of Chile’s COVID-19 crisis, delivering copper volumes in the second quarter that were 5% ahead of consensus despite the company operating with just two-thirds of its workforce on site during the period. However, with ongoing labour disputes and the threat of further COVID-related disruption, life is unlikely to get any easier in the short to medium term for the London-listed company.
