Peru's copper production fell 17.7% in the year to date through July compared with the 2019 period due to mine stoppages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to figures published by the Ministry of Mining and Energy.

Copper production is close to recovering to its typical pre-COVID-19 levels rate with July production coming in at 198,796 tonnes, a 10% increase over the 180,792t produced in June.
