Chile copper costs fall to 2014 levels

Copper production costs in Chile have fallen to their lowest level since 2014 due to reduced power and contractor costs, together with a weakening peso and lower treatment and refining costs, according to state copper agency Cochilco.

The agency said C1cash costs fell to US1.21 per pound in the second quarter compared with the same period in 2019, a reduction of 24c/lb.
