Llurimagua arbitration process again postponed

Chile’s state copper company Codelco and the government of Ecuador have again postponed an investment arbitration process to seek a resolution to a dispute over the Llurimagua copper-molybdenum project in Imbabura, Ecuador. Proceedings before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in Washington, US, have been suspended until December 28.

Codelco brought a case before ICSID on the grounds that Ecuador's state mineral company, Enami, has not complied with agreements relating to the US$3 billion development project.
