BHP signs $25M hire deal

The resources giant's Nickel West Operations in Western Australia will use Coates for equipment hire, tool management and maintenance, telemetry, planned and major shutdowns, and project works.

Coates is part of Seven Group Holdings' (ASX: SGH) Industrial Services business that turned over A$1.1 billion (circa 10% mining) in FY20.

Nickel West has mining, refining and smelting operations, and more than 3,500 employees and contractors, in WA.

Coates says it has an Australia-wide footprint of more than 150 branches, 1 million pieces of equipment, and over 1,900 employees.

"Our experience on various mine sites across the nation will hold our people in good stead as we begin working at BHP's Nickel West locations," Coates CEO Murray Vitlich said.
