US Nuclear Regulatory Commission initially granted the source and by-product materials licence to Azarga Uranium in 2014. The licence was acquired by enCore Energy in January this year.

The licence authorises the production of uranium using in-situ recovery technologies at enCore's Dewey-Burdock project in the Edgemont uranium district of South Dakota. It covers an area of 12,613 surface acres and 16,962 net mineral acres.

The uranium-development company has approximately 90 million pounds of U308 estimated in measured and indicated categories in its uranium portfolio, with assets spread out across the United States in Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah and Arizona.

The company is focused on producing uranium at its licensed and past-producing South Texas Rosita processing plant by 2023, while the Dewey-Burdock project and its Wyoming Gas Hills project provide production opportunities further down the line.

On February 14, enCore Energy Corp traded on the TSX at C$1.35/share, down 0.7% on the day. Its shares have gradually declined from the $2 level seen in September last year, with prices struggling to climb back above $1.40 in the past month.
