Mexico revokes Ganfeng lithium concessions

China’s Ganfeng Lithium reported that Mexico has cancelled its nine lithium concessions in Sonora following changes to the mining law in April 2022 and May 2023, which prohibited lithium concessions, declared lithium as a strategic sector, and granted the exclusive right to engage in lithium mining operations to a state-owned entity.
