Albemarle latest company to get Atacama water fine

Chile’s environmental superintendent (SMA) has fined US lithium producer Albemarle up to 4 billion pesos (US$5 million) for the over extraction of brine from its operations near the Salar de Atacama and failure to comply with its early alert plan.
