New cars will fix lithium giga-bites

The future success of giga factories that will produce lithium ion batteries will depend on the degree of penetration of the Tesla Model S, Chevrolet Bolt and Nissan Leaf electric vehicles (EVs), Simon Moores, managing director of consulting group Benchmark Minerals, told participants in the battery materials seminar at the 5th Current Trends in Mining Finance conference organised by the New York section of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration.
