Mexico government plans to extend hydrocarbon law to minerals

Mexico has "huge geological potential" that has been well-mapped and its current federal government is seeking to further improve its attractiveness for foreign mining investment by extending the terms that govern the nation's hydrocarbon exploitation to minerals, a senior government official said on the sidelines of this year's SME Current Trends in Mining Finance conference in New York.
