Zijin Mining to buy Continental Gold for C$1.4 billion

Zijin Mining Group, one of China’s 10 largest gold producers, has agreed to acquire Continental Gold for C$1.4 billion. Continental is building the Buritica mine in Antioquia, Colombia, which is expected to commence production in the first quarter of 2020 from a high-grade underground operation and produce more than 250,000 ounces a year.
