Wheaton snaps up gold and silver streams at Blackwater

Vancouver-headquartered Wheaton Precious Metals has struck a pair of deals worth US$441 million to take over the gold and silver streams at the Blackwater gold project in British Columbia from previous project owner New Gold and current operator Artemis Gold.

NYSE and LSE-listed Wheaton will pay US$300 million upfront to New Gold to receive 8% of payable gold production up to 280,000 oz, after which it will receive 4% of payable gold production for the
