Great Panther fined for Brazil cyanide discharge

Great Panther Mining has been fined R$50 million (US$9 million) by Brazil’s SEMA environmental authority for a discharge of cyanide from its Tucano operation in Amapa which it believes is responsible for a fish mortality event at the Areia and Silvestre Creeks, and for failure to report the incident in a timely manner.
