Los Andes' core copper change

A Chile copper asset able to produce 179,000 tonnes per annum is a ripe proposition with today’s project deficit, but US$2.9 billion of initial capex and a pre-tax IRR of 14.7% at a red metal price of US$6,615 per tonne is not. Los Andes Copper (CN:LA) chief Antony Amberg stopped by London on a marketing roadshow and told Mining Journal about the changes at the company’s Vizcachitas project since the results of a 2014 preliminary economic assessment went public.
