RISK OUTLOOK in brief

On February 25, 2015 the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan (AKP) announced an initiative to hold a snap election in April 2015, on account of Kazakhstan’s deteriorating economic situation caused by the dramatic fall in global oil prices.

Unsurprisingly the presidential election will be a one-horse race dominated by incumbent president Nursultan Nazarbayev.
