'We want to be part of the food solution'

When PotashCorp and Agrium completed their ‘merger of equals’ to form Nutrien in early January, they created a global fertiliser behemoth covering the entire value chain from mine to farm, capitalised at some US$28 billion and with 20,000 employees. As chief sustainability officer, Lee Knafelc is charged with ensuring these powers are used for good. He spoke to Mining Journal recently as Nutrient was bedding down the union.
