Most forecasts before tomorrow's midterm elections in the US, which sees Senate and House of Representative seats up for grabs, are forecasting a change in the House and no change in the Senate.

 

If right, that means the president Donald Trump will no longer be able to govern in the autocratic way that has been a feature of his rule since his ascent to the most powerful job in the world two years ago.
